The Freedom! The Power of Song concert was a world premiere performance of work by Alexander L’Estrange and Joanna Forbes L’Estrange, with the Call Me Al Quintet, and the Salisbury Community Choir along with the children’s choir taking part. The songs were all related to freedom to mark 100 years since the ending of the First World War and of women being given the right to vote. I am part of the Phoenix Choir at St Swithun’s School, one of the schools that made up the children’s choir.

It was an unforgettable experience. Performing in the sixth largest cathedral in Europe was an absolute honour. After a month of hard work learning the words and the tune, it was mind blowing to perform in the beautiful cathedral. We especially enjoyed the Freedom finale and song This Little Light of Mine. The rhythm of the song was upbeat and we had fun clapping and swaying. The audience were delighted. The concert was a huge success and we are honoured and thankful for this wonderful opportunity.
