Prep School
STAY AND PLAY SESSIONS
Friday 13 November 2026, 9:30 - 10:30 am
Come and play. The rest is a surprise.
Once every half term, we open the doors to St Swithun’s Early Years for a special Stay & Play morning, with a new surprise to discover each time.
Children approaching or currently in Nursery, Preschool and Reception are all welcome, together with their parents or carers. It’s a relaxed chance to spend time with us, explore our Early Years setting and experience what makes growing up at St Swithun’s rather special.
There might be something to make, something to discover, something wonderfully messy or an adventure waiting outdoors. We keep the theme under wraps until the day, so every Stay & Play brings something new.
While children follow their curiosity through play and exploration, parents and carers can meet members of our Early Years team, explore our indoor and outdoor spaces, and ask the questions that matter when thinking about their child’s next steps.
Our approach is warm, nurturing and child-led, with all the space, expertise and opportunities that come from being part of the wider St Swithun’s community.
Come as you are, stay and play, and begin to imagine what their days here might look like.
Places are complimentary, but booking is required.
Can’t make this one? We hold a Stay & Play once every half term, with a different surprise waiting each time. Register your interest and we’ll let you know when the next one is coming up.
PREP SCHOOL OPEN AFTERNOON
Friday 12 March 2027. 1:30pm
Come and experience St Swithun's on a school day. Choosing a school is about so much more than what you can see online. Our Open Afternoon is an opportunity to step inside St Swithun’s Prep, meet the people who make it special and get a feel for everyday life here.
You’ll be welcomed by our Head of Prep, Liz Norris, before setting off on an individual tour led by one of our current pupils. See the school through their eyes, explore our classrooms and facilities, meet some of our specialist teachers and hear first-hand what our pupils love about being here.
There’ll also be time for refreshments, conversation and all the questions you’d like to ask.
This Open Afternoon is for families considering entry from Reception to Year 6. St Swithun’s is girls-only from Reception.
Our Open Afternoons take place during term time, giving you the chance to experience the school as it really is. We’ll contact you around two weeks beforehand to confirm your attendance.
Senior School
SENIOR SCHOOL OPEN MORNING

There are two senior open mornings a year and these are held on a Saturday, one in June and one in October. Please feel free to bring your daughter and other family members who may be interested in St Swithun’s, a flourishing independent school for girls in Hampshire. Your individual senior school visit will take you around the key areas of the school accompanied by a member of the admissions team. You will meet with a member of the leadership team. For senior school visits, please email us with your preferred days so that we can make the most convenient arrangement for you. These visits normally take between 60 – 90 minutes depending on whether your daughter would be a day girl or a boarder (senior school only).
