Year 3 netball against Meoncross

Year 3 had their very first netball match last week.Meoncross could not bring a B team, so the St Swithun’s A and B team played half a match each.

The first half was played by the A team who took possession straight away with some good centre court play from Georgie Richards and Olivia Busher, finding space and passing neatly down the court. The stars of the show were the shooters; Anna Morley, Eleanor Holmes and Lula Golding. Anna scored so many goals that it was hard for the staff to keep up! The score was 14-0 when the A team came off. They were very pleased with themselves and were looking forward to seeing how the B team would do.

The second half began and the B team started the match well and were in control of the game. There was some good defending from Kaavya Venkatesh and Izzy Green, both working hard to gain back possession by intercepting the ball and jumping high. The centre court players Katya Longden and Marie-Therese Rodrigues worked well together passing nicely to each other and the shooters and showing good ball control. The B team also produced some good shooting from Saskia Collins and Daisy Gates.

The final score was 20-0. Well done girls.
