Women's Lacrosse World Cup

Lacrosse is strong at St Swithun’s School thanks to the skills and commitment of the PE staff.

Sports teacher Steph Webb, who plays for the English Lacrosse ladies squad, was invited earlier this year to help promote and celebrate England’s successful bid to host the 2017 Women’s Lacrosse World Cup.

Hugh Robertson, Minister for Sport and the Olympics, helped English Lacrosse mark the announcement with a photo shoot accompanied by Steph and fellow England player Hollie Harrington.

The tournament was awarded to England thanks to cross-parliamentary backing from nearly 100 MPs, including David Cameron, Nick Clegg, Ed Miliband and Harriet Harman, and will take place at Surrey Sports Park in Guildford.
