Winchester Choristers

St Swithun's School pupils Connie Freer-Smith, L6, from Alresford, and Amy Butterworth, L6, from Winchester, received medals following the service at Winchester Cathedral on Sunday 11th September as they became Head and Deputy Head Chorister of Winchester Cathedral Girls' Choir respectively.

Both girls, along with other girls from St Swithun's School and other local schools, practise at the cathedral twice a week and sing during the weekly Sunday service as well as at concerts at Easter and Christmas.

Director of St Swithun's School music Mr Richard Brett, who trains the girls in the St Swithun's Choir,  of which Connie and Amy are both committed members, says 'There is nothing like a cathedral chorister's training and experience, especially in the incomparably fine and wonderful Winchester Cathedral Choral Foundation'.
