Pupils organise 'Sing' - a concert for charity

In May, members of St Swithun’s Glee Club organised 'Sing', a charity concert that raised money for the school’s chosen charities: Piam Brown children’s ward at Southampton Hospital, Hampshire and IOW Air Ambulance and Refuge.

Glee Club gives the girls a weekly opportunity to sing a variety of musical genres and the acts for this concert included West End musical numbers, music hall classics and more recent chart toppers.

In addition, some of the girls performed their own original songs and St Swithun’s band The Morrows performed ‘Song 2’ by Blur and ‘Feeling good’ by Muse.

An audience of almost 200 enjoyed this informal concert in the school's performing arts centre and for some, including the talented Fran and Pippa Ebel, it was their last performance at St Swithun's which added an extra poignancy to the evening.
