National dressage success for Rose and Magenta II

Rose McMillan L5 competed on her horse, Magenta II at the NAF Five Star National Winter Dressage Championships at Hartpury College in April.

Rose took part in the Petplan Equine preliminary section, having qualified in July 2011 at Pachesham EC, Surrey by winning her regional qualification on 68%.  She was 4th in the initial round at Hartpury, finishing her test on 68%, which qualified her to go through to the 2nd round. She completed this second round finishing her test again on 68%. This excellent score placed Rose 11th nationally out of a qualifying class of 60 horse and riders.

Rose also had a very successful weekend at the British Young Rider Dressage Scheme squadding weekend. She achieved the highest squad test score for the weekend and on that result has bypassed an entire squad. Rose kept a very level head during her ridden test and then had to watch her test whilst commenting to 2 dressage judges on the moves she and the horse were required to make, where she might be able to make improvements and where she felt she gained her maximum marks. Congratulations Rose and Magenta II.
