Maths medal winners

St Swithun's School, Winchester achieved outstanding results in the recent Junior Mathematics Olympiad. Three girls even gained hard earned medals for their efforts: Jess Fennell, L5, from Romsey and Georgina Penfold, L5, from Southampton, won bronze medals, putting them in the top 200 in the country from Years 7 and 8. Elizabeth Tse, L5, was awarded a book prize from UKMT (UK Mathematics Trust) and a silver medal which puts her in the top 50 in the country in Year 9.

Mr Stephen Power, Head of Mathematics at St Swithun's was thrilled and said 'Well done to the girls – this is a wonderful achievement'.
