Giant steps for Jessica

Following the National Dressage Championships in September Jessica Gale, U5, achieved 2nd place in the Medium final with just 0.27% behind the winner.  This success gave Jessica the title of amateur National Champion on her horse Ultra Jazz. Jessica, age 15, was one of the youngest competitors to be placed so highly which delighted her trainer, top South African rider, Denise Hallion.
At the end of the school summer holidays Jessica also competed in the U25 National Dressage Championships where she also did exceptionally well.  Her biggest success here was winning the Junior Derby on her other horse Rebellski.  The Junior Derby consists of riding different tests on your own horse as well as taking command of the other competitors horses in the final, testing riding ability and horsemanship.  Jess won the round on Rebellski, but also each of the other 3 rounds which gave her the Junior Derby championship title.
Riding on the crest of this success Jessica has recently been awarded a coveted place on the British Equestrian Federation Excel talent squad. The aim of the programme is to take the most talented riders in England, that have world class potential and give them support and guidance and prepare them for the world class programme (Olympic Squads).   Congratulations Jessica and good luck!
