Chamber concert confidence

Chamber music is flourishing at St Swithun’s. Under the experienced tutelage of Natasha Wright, our new Head of Instrumental Studies and former viola player in the London Symphony Orchestra, last night we enjoyed accomplished and enthusiastic performances from eight chamber groups. In addition to the string quartets and piano trio we also heard the recorder ensemble and the saxophone quartet. In a genre where each player must take ultimate responsibility for their own part, whilst also working as a group to make a musical whole, the girls rose to the challenge and played with confidence and musical maturity.
