Beaulieu Year 5 trip to the Countryside Education Trust
The Year 5 girls recently returned from the junior school's annual week at a residential centre at Beaulieu in the New Forest.
The centre itself is a working farm and the girls take opportunities to care for the animals, tend the garden and lay the tables both morning and evening.
During the day, activities such as Meet a Tree; pond dipping and mini beasting keep the girls educated in all aspects of Habitat studies and work on river measurement sets them up for their Humanities topic. A trip to Bucklers Hard also gives them an insight into the lives of some New Forest folk in days-gone-by.
The fun doesn’t stop in the evening. Team-building activities; a campfire and a talk from a visiting Falconer are some of the treats on offer.
All-in-all, a thoroughly enjoyable educational experience.
