Girls make a splash on Watersports Weekend

31 girls from L4, U4 and L5 left School on a Friday afternoon in June to make the journey across to Cowes via Warsash on our favourite Jenny Boat. The forecast was promising and they were not disappointed. On Saturday the gentle breeze from the North-West was ideal for the dinghy sailing.

Kayaking is good fun in any conditions, but was particularly enjoyable in warmer water. On Saturday evening the girls were treated to some Recreational Games by the enthusiastic group of instructors. All of this activity resulted in a good night's sleep for everyone.

On Sunday the windsurfing was slightly hampered by a wind speed of zero! However, it was a beautiful, sunny morning to play on the shore at Thorness Bay (or lie in the shade in the case of the staff). They returned to the UKSA to have lunch and then to compete in the Raft Building competition.
