Year 4 drawing acting inspiration from Shakespeare's Globe

Year 4 travelled to London to visit Shakespeare's Globe Theatre as part of their preparations for A Midsummer Night’s Dream that they will perform at the end of this term. They loved finding out about the Heaven and Hell areas of the stage, learning that a cannon fired during a play set fire to the theatre and burned it to the ground, and that the people who paid a penny to stand and watch the plays were called Groundlings or the Penny Stinkards!

They also took part in a workshop with an actor; exploring relationships between characters and the different worlds they inhabit (fairy and mortal). The girls worked very hard and achieved some excellent acting.
