On Thursday 8 October Year 4 were transported back in time to the Victorian Age. They travelled to Manor Farm Country Park and experienced life as a Victorian child. They imagined life waking up in a Victorian farm house at sunrise in order to complete all the jobs on the farm which included; milking the cows, bottle feeding the calves, feeding the chickens, rabbits, pigs and geese.
Back in the farm house they helped in the scullery, washing and drying the clothes – all this before breakfast. It was then time to experience a Victorian classroom and meet the formidable Miss Stubbs! The children learnt their tables and wrote with fountain pens and all certainly experienced first hand how strict a Victorian teacher was.
