On World Book Day, the whole school took part in a story board book competition. The event challenged children to think about a story they have enjoyed and to explain key elements of the plot using printed, traced or drawn illustrations and items such as stickers or leaves to create an unusual visual effect.
The children also brought in one accessory which gave a clue to the book they had chosen. There was a selection of wigs, animal tails and even a beard.
Head of English, Sharon Taylor said "The array of story board books and the imagination and effort that had gone into many of them was delightful. We achieved what we hoped for, which was an event that every pupil could enter and express themselves in many ways."
There were prizes in every year group across the school.
