Warm clothes for Ukraine

Anna Shevchenko (mother of Maria in U5), came to speak in assembly about her experiences in Ukraine as part of the OSCE (Organisation, Security and Co-operation in Europe) delegation, working with the International Observers Mission.

We heard about children who had to leave their homes in Eastern Ukraine in the summer and are not yet able to return. They are without warm winter clothes and an appeal for donations has been launched. St Swithun’s girls were invited to each donate one item of clothing, something that they would love to wear themselves, in a clean condition and that will be warm in the winter months. Girls also attached a short note with a greeting to make the gift more personal.

The donations arrived in Ukraine where they were very enthusiastically received.
