Beech and Hazel classes visited the Milestones history museum this week. Everyone climbed aboard the coach and chatted excitedly as we made our way through the busy traffic and along the M3 to Basingstoke. Once inside the museum we were transported into another world. There were steam engines, trains, horse drawn carriages, trams and period buildings to explore. The children found out about transport in the past and had the opportunity to climb aboard vintage fire engines and buses.
Part of the trip included a story session in a post office where we were all given the chance to dress up, write postcards and post letters. The two classes followed an eye spy trail around the museum and had to search for different artefacts from the past. What a busy and interesting visit we had with everyone returning to school tired but happy and full of enthusiasm. Thank you Reception for behaving so well and making this such an enjoyable day.
