This week, Year 2 and Project: Science and Winter Gardening Club have been setting up three bird-feeding stations around the school grounds in the hope that we can help the local bird population to survive the harsh winter conditions and to encourage birds to come nearer to our classrooms, so that we can appreciate them. The children discussed the purpose of the various different food mixes, discovering the identities of all of the potential feathered visitors and their favourite dishes. Class 2C were even treated to a chorus of song from the trees above by way of a thank you for their feeding station! We now look forward to taking part in the bird count in class at a suitable point during the next few weeks.
