Parents v girls lacrosse

28 parents bravely volunteered to take on St Swithun’s in two lacrosse matches (M5 and L4/U4) last week.

Phoebe Sugden L4 writes: On Friday L4 and U4 played their parents in a 10-a-side lacrosse match. Jo Brown was the star of the parents’ side, shooting some amazing goals. Despite great captaining from Nigel Lickley, the adults were unable to beat the girls with a final score of 4-3.

Megan Jolleys and Tink Manton Jones M5 write: M5 were looking forward to the parent-daughter lacrosse match. Despite the fact most parents had not picked up a lacrosse stick before the match, it turned out to be quite a fight with the parents more enthusiastic than any of us imagined they would be. The final score ended as 7-1 to the girls. We would like to thank all the parents who took part and a special mention to Kevin Bespolka for being the goal scorer on the adults team. Also to Clive Sawkins for stepping up last minute as the parents’ goalie and making some very impressive saves. We all had a great time.
