Mrs YiRu Hall, director of music writes: At the end of January the whole school came together to celebrate our musical achievements during the finals of the St Swithun’s House Music Competition. The first rounds took place at the end of the autumn term, with over one hundred entries from across the houses. Each of the fifteen finalists bravely overcame their nerves and performed with maturity and finesse. There were a wide variety of instruments represented including drum kit, recorder and euphonium by girls from L4 to U6. It was wonderful to watch the finalists showcase their talents whilst being cheered on enthusiastically by the whole school. The adjudicator gave very positive and encouraging feedback to each of the girls at the end before announcing the eventual winners: Isabella (junior on piano), Kirstie (intermediate on recorder) and Mia (advanced on piano).
