Mastering mathematics challenges

Earlier this term the L4 and U4 took part in the Junior Maths Challenge and achieved eight gold, 21 silver and 13 bronze certificates between them.

Approximately 250 000 pupils from across the UK sat the JMC with roughly the top 6% receiving gold, the next 13% silver and the next 21% bronze certificates.

The following girls achieved gold certificates and a special mention goes to Emma Brennan for getting the top mark in the L4 and Isobel Wolf U4, who achieved the best result in the school for the second year running: Isobel Wolf , Bryony Dennison, Abigail Dennison, Jamilah Ranger and Amelia Bajer (all U4), Emma Brennan, Sarah Hotot and Maria Solovyeva (all L4).

Isobel Wolf went on to take part in the Junior Mathematical Olympiad which is for the top 1200 students in the country. Isobel achieved a distinction and bronze medal, placing her in the top 200 or so in Years 7 & 8 combined nationally.
