Olivia Thorneycroft (Old Girl, 2015) returned to school in June to talk to current students about her gap year experience. Olivia worked as a gap assistant in a boys’ prep school for 4 months before volunteering through the organisation The Leap in Ecuador and the Galápagos Islands. She also undertook extensive personal travel in Asia and Australia.
Her recent and varied travels put her in an excellent position to talk to the current girls about the opportunities open to them, the challenges of organising a trip and the long term benefits of gaining such experience. We thoroughly enjoyed Olivia’s animated and enthusiastic presentation. In September Olivia goes on to read history at the University of Exeter and we wish her all the best for the future.
