Emily Tait - Housemistress
Emily Tait started teaching at St Swithun’s in 2014. She is a teacher of history and also runs the school Assist programme. After growing up in the heart of the Brecon Beacons, Wales, Emily spent a year in New Zealand working in a girls’ school in Christchurch. Following this, she graduated from Cardiff University with a degree in history and sociology and went on to complete her PGCE in London. Emily has experience in a number of different boarding houses, including living in a boys boarding house as well as being in High House as a tutor. Emily has many interests outside of the classroom, including netball, skiing and travelling. Emily loved school herself and really enjoys being able to see students that she teaches relishing their own school experiences.
Joanna Parsons - Assistant Housemistress

She joined St Swithun’s in January 2011 having worked previously in preparatory schools for many years as matron and assistant houseparent. She enjoys reading, cinema and swimming in her spare time and although she loves animals is resisting the pressure from the girls to get a pet for the house.
