A group of French language students enjoyed the Mediterranean hotspot of Nice as the location for a language and cultural tour at the end of the summer holidays.
Immersing themselves in French life the girls boarded with French families, participating in morning French language and culture lessons followed by excursions in the afternoons. A walking tour of Nice helped the girls to orientate themselves and understand cultural and historical aspects of the city courtesy of their French tour guide. They bought goods at the market and witnessed the process of sweet making with a tour of a local confiserie.
Students took a train journey to Monaco where they enjoyed the exhibits in the shark aquarium whilst also glimpsing the ‘high life’ with some designer window shopping, taking in the sights of the yachts in the marina, the luxury cars outside the casino and of course the royal palace.
A visit to the Matisse Museum and admiring the numerous citrus trees at a nearby Franciscan monastery gardens rounded off the penultimate day in Nice.
