Junior Maths Challenge

L4 and U4 took part in the Junior Maths Challenge and achieved 6 gold, 16 silver and 28 bronze certificates between them. Over 250 000 pupils from across the UK sat the JMC with roughly the top 6% receiving a gold certificate, the next 13% silver and the next 21% bronze.

The following girls achieved gold certificates: Natasha Christensen, Sylvia Chirwa (best in school and best in year), Pernille Faye, Kate Wimbush (all U4), Cally Johnston, Erin MacCabe (both L4).

Approximately 6500 of the top students in the country in L4 and U4 are invited to sit the follow-on competition, the Junior Mathematical Olympiad or Kangaroo. Sylvia Chirwa, Kate Wimbush and Erin MacCabe qualified for the Kangaroo.
