Intermediate Maths Challenge

Last term all the L5, M5 and U5 girls sat the Intermediate Mathematics Challenge.  This competition involves over a quarter of a million students from across the country taking the one hour paper.  Our girls achieved an excellent set of results with gold certificates awarded to 10 girls and over 70 certificates awarded in total.

Eight of these girls were also invited to take part in follow-on rounds for high scoring students.

Alice Yip M5 was invited to sit the Year 10 Olympiad. This paper is for the top 600 students nationally in Year 10 so this is an exceptional achievement.  The mathematics department awarded Alice a book prize.

Mari Thomas and India Mackay both U5, Emma Bennett, Ellie Gleave and Elizabeth Tse, all M5 and Natalia Smithers and Isabella Watson of L5 were all invited to sit a European Kangaroo paper. (5,500 pupils from all three year groups sitting the Intermediate Challenge are invited to sit either the grey or pink European Kangaroo papers dependent on school year.
