Impact on parents of current bursary recipients

Mother of bursary recipient in upper school:

"Words fail to express how grateful we are that St Swithun’s has given our daughter the privilege and opportunity of a lifetime. She is receiving a first class education, with dedicated enthusiastic teachers in a beautiful setting. It is a joy to see her so happy, motivated, enthused and challenged.  She has been given the chance to realise her full academic potential, her creative and musical abilities. She is on track to go to one of the country’s top universities. Importantly, she has experienced the significance of the collective help of others to bring about change to the course of her life and this has had a profound positive impact on her. This and so much more would not have been possible without the support of St Swithun’s".

Mother of bursary recipient in lower school:

"I would like to start by saying I cannot thank St Swithun’s  and its donors enough for the life changing opportunity my daughter has been given to study at St Swithun’s  School as a boarder. Without the bursary, my daughter would never have come to study at the school because I simply cannot afford the fees.
We are new to the school but already I can see changes. My daughter has grown in confidence, is more independent, disciplined and her academic ability has been enhanced. The future certainly looks bright as we can see possibilities more clearly now.
My daughter benefits from close interaction with girls her own age, has made a wide range of friends and she feels that she is part of a large family.
I’m glad that she is happy to try new things. She is involved in a wide range of extra-curricular activities. We had never heard of lacrosse and after a bumpy start she is enjoying her new sport. She is now hoping to start horse riding in the near future. The opportunities are endless.
I’d like to reiterate our sincere heartfelt gratitude for the bursary award and I hope that the Bramston Fund will continue to open doors for others".
