Caledonian society event

The first Scottish reeling evening this term took place on 13 October. This is the second year of this very successful social event between St Swithun’s and Winchester College.

Twenty girls from U5 to U6 have formed a Caledonian Society. They were joined for the evening by twenty sixth form boys from Winchester College, along with two of their house staff.
Dances learnt on the night included the Gay Gordons, Stripping the Willow, Hamilton House and The Dashing White Sergeant.  Some students from Colombia who are currently visiting St Swithun's and Winchester College also treated the party to a demonstration of Salsa which was very impressive.

Thanks go to St Swithun's PTA members and parents for their enthusiastic participation and excellent teaching and calling skills – especially Mr Robert Onslow assisted by his wife Tara and Mrs Sarah Tice.

Everyone is now looking forward to the next gathering on 10th November.
