BBC Radio Solent interview

Following their impressive contributions towards the St Swithun’s Legging it for Lira challenge chaplain Katrina Dykes, language teacher Caro Bewes and students Sophia Wybourne M5 and Jess Fennell U5 were interviewed by presenter Nick Girdler at the BBC Radio Solent broadcasting studio in Southampton as part of his Have you? are you? will you? slot.

Katrina devised and co-ordinated the Legging it for Lira day of fundraising which was in aid of education for girls at St Swithun’s sister school, St Katherine’s, in Uganda. Caro did a tandem parachute jump which raised over £1000 towards the £20,000+ total amount raised. Jess walked an impressive 21 miles and Sophia spent four hours in the swimming pool covering a total of 528 lengths to reach eight miles and help cover the 6000 miles target required.
